Alex began his career with Marine in the Northern Premier League in 2015/16.

He moved to Skelmersdale United in 2016/17. Alex was part of the Skelmersdale United team that won the double during 2020/21 scoring twice in 36 appearances as the club went on to win the North West Counties Premier Division. More memorable was the 3-2 FA Vase win over AFC Stoneham at Wembley in front of 476 supporters.

He signed for FC Isle of Man on 18th January 2022 with Chris Bass recognising his winning pedigree. Alex made his Ravens debut just 4 days later on 22nd January 2022 against Burscough in the North West Counties League Premier Division, The Ravens winning the game 4-2.

Alex scored his 1st Ravens goal on 5th February 2022 in the 4-3 win at Vauxhall Motors and his performances helped FC Isle of Man remain competitive at the top of the league. He started both key games against AFC Bury at the end of the season at The Bowl when promotion was at stake (drew 0-0) and also in the North West Counties League Division 1 Champions Cup Final (lost 1-0).

Due to the emergence of FC Isle of Man academy product Wesley Magee, Alex lost his place in the starting XI during 2022/23, but came off the bench to feature in the 5-0 win over Kidsgrove Athletic on the final day of the season that sealed promotion to the Northern Premier League Division 1 North West. Alex had now won the North West Counties League Premier Division twice in the space of 3 years.

The 2023/24 season went the same path for Alex, his role now as a backup to Wesley Magee and he was again called upon to change the game (unsuccesfully) off the bench against Walton Casuals in the Regional Division 1 playoff final at Walsall’s Banks’ Stadium.

Alex retired from semi-professional football at the conclusion of his FC Isle of Man contract at the end of the 2025/26 season. In all, Alex played 64 times for The Ravens and scored 4 goals.
